Over a year and a half in the making, Incandescent is a concept album about an unusual relationship Michael O'Shea (the musician/producer behind Kinjac) had with a Swedish girl that led him to move to Stockholm for the summer of 2010. Its chronological narrative traces the arc of this relationship from beginning to end. The synchronistic and unlikely beginnings, a transatlantic journey before they had met in person, a blissful summer in love, the heartbreaking end caused by international and emotional walls, and his recovery from depression in recognizing the sublimely cyclical nature of the human search for love—for the incandescent.

The album was written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Michael O'Shea and released on his label Solotechne Records. The album was finished at his studio in his native Asheville, NC, but much of the writing of this album, and his previous release No. 7, took place in Stockholm, Sweden. Acts with a similar sound to Kinjac are Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Caribou, Massive Attack, Postal Service, Muse, Saul Williams, Sufjan Stevens, and Brazilian Girls.
